Local Coffee Shops, Pubs & Restaurants. There are many great coffee shops, pubs and restaurants in Salcombe town for you to choose from. You may also wish to go to Tripadvisor or similar for the latest reviews. Here are some of our favourites:-

• Breakfast: The Salcombe Coffee Company does a fine breakfast, as does The Pantry Coffee House, Salcombe Yawl and Captain Morgan’s and there is a buffet on offer at the Winking Prawn at North Sands.
• Lunch: Family favourites are The Salcombe Harbour Hotel or The Crab Shed for lunch. Or sit on the terrace of the Ferry Inn overlooking the harbour and beaches.
• Sundowners: Grab a table on the top terrace of the Kings Arms in the evening sun overlooking the harbour. The ‘KA’ is also a great place to eat.
• Dinner: Victoria Inn is excellent for families with a secret garden and excellent play area at the back. If you want a special night out (or day out) try The South Sands Hotel which is excellent  or just down the hill try The Salcombe Harbour Hotel which has a great outside terrace to soak up some rays on a lounger, and watch the boats sail by.
• Something Sweet: Indulge in an Ice cream from Salcombe Dairy (options for larger tubs) or visit their chocolate factory in town. Other amazing options include Caldo & Fred - brand new gelataria on Island Street (also serving paninis); and The Harbour Cafe (Salcombe Ice Cream) next to Cranch's Sweet Shop - another Salcombe Favourite!    

Outside of Salcombe there are also many excellent pubs and restaurants to try. We often visit the following (but again for up-to-date recommendations do look at the latest reviews sites). 

• Oyster Shack at Bigbury is a seafood favourite 
• Beach house at South Milton whether you fancy a breakfast, lunch or dinner you always find great food and atmosphere at the Beach House - ***Update - Due to a devastating fire in May, the Beach House is currently closed ***

• For great burgers try Yes Burger in Russells Court off Fore Street in Salcombe
• For Fish and Chips try The Plaice on Fore Street in Salcombe
